smoke is very harmful

by Meg @ Whidbey Birds in Testimonials 0 comments

Please be careful with your pets. Especially your birds they cannot take smoke it irritates there air sacks.. Keep them inside as much as possible. If you have to take them out to the car get the car running first with the air running to clean the air and put a damp towel over the cage if the smoke is very severe. If you can smell smoke in the house turn on the furnace so the fan is just running.., if you cannot do that than get a fan and attach a furnace filter to the back of it… Monitor your pets all of them.. This is serious folks and we already have had alot of people call me with sad stories of how their pets could not breath or they found them dead in the cage… Please please do not take chances…

Canary wings is the bird of the week

by Meg @ Whidbey Birds in Testimonials 0 comments

Do you want a bird that talks that is a total social bird. One that stays tame you do not need to work at it. A bird that has a super special personality. Well that is the canary wing. Otherwise known as the bebe parrot. They are small birds but do not let that fool you. They are full of themselves love to play and to interact. They are a easy bird so good for a first time bird owner.. or for a family. Great for a person that does not want a noisy bird… Call me for more information I am limited to what I have the breeding season is now over for them… So if you miss out there will be more next year.

BIRD OF THE MONTH IS…….. THE SUN CONURE……………. personality plus packaged into a vibrant bundle of feathers

by Meg @ Whidbey Birds in Babies Breeding News Hand-Raised Whidbey Updates 2 comments

Endearing, charming, playful and personality plus packaged into a vibrant bundle of feathers. Thats a sun conure! The sun conure possesses a personality that will delight the experienced bird owner anD theIR curiosity of the inexperienced. They can best be described as curious, inquisitive, active and playful. They love attention and closeness from their owners. Sun Conures are among the most popular pet bird species, and have been for many years. There are several reasons for this — not limited to the fact that they are arguably the most vividly colored and beautiful Conure species. While most people are initially attracted to the Sun Conure for its stunning looks, those who fall in love with the species do so due to its many other endearing characteristics
