Hand Raising

by Meg @ Whidbey Birds in 0 comments

I started this journey back in the 70s and 80s working at the major bird farms in California. I also worked with a vet that specialized in birds. This gave me a huge insight into the health and care of birds. As I moved and came up to Washington state I saw a huge need for not aviary raised parent raised birds, but for home raised human raised birds. So I started raising baby birds. The response was overwhelming and thru the years we have grown to what we are today. All our babies are pulled at day 10 and raised in our home away from their parents so they are totally human bonded. I try to get the babies as soon as they are weaned into their new homes. We take them for car rides and road trips. They are in our living room so they get the sounds of everyday household noise the TV, vacuum, cooking etc.. We have pets so they get used to dogs and other distractions.

from big to small we raise many breeds of birds if you do not see the bred you are looking for it maybe they are not breeding right now give me a call at 360 929 2869
